Virginia L (Stoner) Huguenard, Ginny, was born in the spring of1929 in the small town of Petroleum Indiana. She was the second child and daughter in a family of six.

Her mother struggled during the depression and WWII and like all her neighbors and friends, she had to make do with what she could. Paints and art pencils had to be borrowed and traded between friends. Virginia learned a valuable lesson for life. Thanks to her upbringing, she was frugal, driven and appreciated what she did have, friends and family.

Immediately after graduating high school, Ginny moved to Fort Wayne and enrolled in the Fort Wayne International Business College. After graduation, she took a job at General Electric Company and worked there until her retirement. She managed to accumulate quite a bit of GE stock and hung on to it until the day she passed away. That money, and thanks to a few other investments she made along the way, turned into the funds that she was able to award to several charities and to the Fort Wayne Artist’s Guild Gallery to find a home.

As an artist and a crafter, she produced some beautiful work and willingly shared her masterpieces. Her art was born from the need to paint and express herself in nature. She painted what made her happy. In her later pieces, you can see, next to her signature, a small dog and cat, Pepe and Morticia, her babies.
