Virginia Nance's Commissioned Necklace

Necklace designed around a family heirloom broach
Virginia Nance met a new client in Williamsburg, Virginia last October who purchased two of her jewelry pieces. This client was so impressed with her work, they commissioned Virginia to design a necklace.
Virginia embarked on a six-week project to create a beautiful four-strand Swarovski pearl and crystal necklace with the broach at the center. Virginia was very pleased with the commission, the new client, and the results of her creativity.

From the office of Lt. Governor Skillman:
For the sixth consecutive year, I am accepting submissions for my annual Celebration of Hoosier Women Artists Competition. Winners of the art competition will be announced in March to coincide with Women’s History Month.
The 2011 competition was a tremendous success. Displaying the winning pieces of art in my office has been an honor; visitors are consistently impressed by the art that is displayed. I look forward to seeing this year’s submissions and once again sharing the talents of our winners with Hoosiers who visit the Statehouse.
The entry deadline for this year’s contest is February 17, 2012. The works will be on display at my office through the end of the year and will be posted online. Complete competition rules and dates are available online at www.lg.in.gov/artists. Electronic copies of the art and the entry form should be submitted to Karen Davis - artists@lg.in.gov.
